Customer Privacy Policy

In the course of our business relationship with our customers, we collect information about them that is necessary to provide them with the products and services we sell. We treat this information as confidential and recognize the importance of protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how and why we collect personal information, how and when we use and share it and how we safeguard it.

Accountability – Our Commitment to Privacy

At Bon Voyage we respect and value your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information. We are committed to safeguarding all the personal information you choose to share with us, whether in person, over the internet or on the telephone. The use of such information will be restricted to the purpose for which it was collected.

Personal Information – What is it and why do we need it?

Personal information identifies you as an individual and may include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, age and birth date, health status and history, travel preferences and destination interests. Travel to certain destinations may require additional information such as passport and citizenship information.

The information collected is used to properly reserve and confirm your travel arrangements and to determine your travel insurance requirements. It is also used to communicate confirmed arrangements to you and to make you aware of future travel opportunities that may be of interest to you. No other information will be collected.

Sharing your Information – Who, What, Where, When and Why

In the process of making a travel reservation some of your personal information must be passed on to one or more of our suppliers (Airlines, Hotels, Tour Companies, Cruise Lines, Insurance Companies) at the time the booking is made. We do not share any unnecessary information with any of these companies – they get only what they need to properly complete your arrangements.

Most of our travel arrangements are booked with one of our “Preferred Suppliers”. These companies are under contract with ENSEMBLE TRAVEL – the consortium to which we belong, and are monitored with respect to customer satisfaction and contractual performance.

We have a mailing list of clients who wish to receive periodic information about travel opportunities that may be of interest to them. These mailing are done by a firm contracted for this purpose by Ensemble Travel.

We also have a list of clients who wish to receive travel information by e-mail. This is done from within our office.

Safeguarding your Information – Our security procedures

Your information is kept in locked filing cabinets or our safe and not available to anyone but our employees. Unless you have authorized your name to be included on one of our lists, your personal information is kept for 2 years after your date of travel and destroyed by an outside firm who has been certified for that purpose.

Our website is secured with a certificate – any information you provide is encrypted and not accessible to third parties.

Our office is secured by a monitored security system for both unauthorized entry and fire. The windows and glass door have a special coating to prevent break-in.

Compliance and Recourse – Your options.

If you feel that the personal information we collected from you is inaccurate, is being used improperly or without your consent, whether by us or one of our suppliers, you need only contact Mr. Michael Delf our privacy officer who will deal with your situation quickly and effectively. Simply call or write to him at our office.

If, after a reasonable period you are still unsatisfied, you may also contact the Canadian Privacy Commissioner (Government of Canada), The Better Business Bureau (BC Mainland) or The Registrar of Travel (BC Government).
